showers

Had a few minutes on the axe yesterday it strong win and showers just deperate to wet a line. It was very high but clear enough for a fly at 2pm and had trout attacking my peter ross and a small waddington. Just as I got into it by 2.30pm the serious rain/ showers brought lots more colour in and up it came again! Sod this I'm off to SW Scotland.

Yoyo

River up and down like a yoyo! Had some fun well upstream with the fly during a slightly clearer spell sunday afternoon. Difficult to predict with these showers and torrential down pours. Some serious sea trout caught in wales this week, perhaps we might get a chance when it settles?

Soca

Been to Slovenia, sadly not fishing though one road trip enabled a stop by a bridge over the Soca and did the old peep over and saw the biggest trout I've ever seen, more like spotting a salmon in the Lyn! Beautiful clear green water but a bit cold for swimming, despite the 35 degree heat! Back to the little old Axe last night, which was clear despite the regular showers and quickly back into the routine of losing fish. One good pull and one hooked for a while and then off! Driving me knuts doing nothing different from the beginning of the season landed first 10 now last 4 all off! Fair bit of rain overnight in Lyme, should think some colour got into it by now. Anyone seen it today?
